Volunteers are a vital part of what makes Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium an exciting and educational experience for guests. We offer volunteer opportunities in many areas of the Zoo and in both aquariums. If you have a passion for animals, conservation, and the environment, please check out the volunteering avenues below. See which one fits your interests!

Adult Volunteers

Adult volunteers assist with a variety of activities around the zoo from on-grounds education to greeting guests at the front entrance. Review our volunteer openings to see what opportunities are available.

Youth Volunteers

Youth Volunteering provides students age 11-18 an opportunity to increase and share their knowledge of animals, conservation, and the environment while gaining valuable volunteer experience in a zoo or aquarium.
