A Night at the Zoo
Spend the night at the Zoo together during a one-of-a-kind overnight sleepover experience.
Zoo Snoozes are special overnight programs offered on select Friday nights from January through May, and again from September through mid-November. These popular zoo sleepovers give groups a chance to experience the Zoo after hours and are not available during Summer Camps or during Zoolights.
Location update: While previous Zoo Snoozes overnight experiences were held in the Pacific Seas Aquarium, this year’s sleepovers will take place in the refreshed and re-opened Tropical Reef Aquarium. This change is due to a temporary road closure as Parks Tacoma works to improve pedestrian safety in the park.
2026 Zoo Snoozes are SOLD OUT. Please check back in summer 2026 for information about the 2027 Zoo Snoozes overnight lottery.
An Unforgettable Experience
In the Tropical Reef Aquarium, you will sleep in the dusky glow of the Outer Reef as zebra sharks and a variety of colorful warm water fishes swim peacefully by.
Evening activities include a nighttime tour to explore some of our outdoor habitats, including Rocky Shores and Red Wolf Woods.
Morning activities include a continental breakfast and time to visit more animals before experiencing a private encounter with one of the Asian Forest Sanctuary animals.

Registration Process
Due to the popularity of Zoo Snoozes, each group must submit an online request form.
- Online request forms for 2026 Zoo Snoozes are now closed. Check back in Summer 2026 for information on the 2027 lottery.
- Submitting a request form does not guarantee that your group will be selected to participate in a Snooze program. Groups will be selected using a lottery system.
- Groups will be notified of their lottery status by mid-October following the close of the request form for each cycle.
- Only one submission per group is required. (Multiple submissions for the same group will not improve chances of selection.)
- Request forms do not carry over from past lotteries. Groups need to submit a new request form each cycle they are interested in.
