Animal Ambassadors
During your animal program, an expert staff biologist will introduce your group to one of the Zoo’s resident animals. Guests will gain captivating insights into the animal’s unique behaviors and the critical conservation efforts surrounding its species.
(Availability varies depending on season and event type.)
- Animal programs are typically available to be scheduled between 11am and 2pm for daytime events, depending on request, and must end by 7:30pm for after-hours/evening events.
- The animal program is approximately 15 minutes, depending on the species and the animal’s comfort level at the event.
- Maximum of 2 animals per event. (If only 1 staff member there may be a 10–15-minute break between multiple animals.)
Available animal close-encounter programs:
- Small: to include options such as – Reptile (Snake, lizard, tortoise), small birds (like chickens), small mammals (like armadillo), or insects/invertebrates
- Large: to include options such as – Larger birds (like macaws or owl), larger reptile (like a boa-type snake), or larger mammals (like porcupine or anteater)
*To ensure the well-being of our animals, the specific animal participating in your program will be one that chooses to engage and is suitable for the program space. We are happy to consider any phobias or allergies within your group to make the experience enjoyable for everyone.
