Zoos Go Wild for Mariners Postseason

There’s postseason magic in the air, and not just at T-Mobile Park. The excitement of October baseball has officially reached the wild at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, where animals (and humans) are proudly stepping up to the plate for the Mariners.

Guests who wear Mariners gear to either zoo will receive $5 off general admission at the front gate. The offer is valid through the end of the Mariners’ postseason run.

Thanks to some quick and creative training from her keepers at Point Defiance Zoo, Ruby the hornbill learned how to fetch a baseball and run to her “base”. She impressed everyone with her smarts. It didn’t take long for this clever bird to emerge as the unofficial MVP of the zoo’s Mariners celebrations.

Rocket the dog has been spotted rocking Mariners gear, and he’s not alone. Some very fashionable goats have joined in, showing that baseball spirit truly brings everyone together.

In the peaceful forests of Northwest Trek’s Free-Roaming Area, the Mariners mojo is going big. Rescued moose Calli and Luna have been seen exploring the Free-Roaming Area while showing their support for Seattle’s team. And don’t overlook Thistle the porcupine, who has become one of the cutest fans around.

Northwest Trek is also proudly flying a Mariners flag, joining their own moose mascot, Footloose, in cheering on Mariner Moose. It’s a perfect pairing of Pacific Northwest pride.

Come cheer on the Mariners in the wildest way possible!
