Kali was born at the Zoo on April 17, 2013. Because she was hand-raised, she’s very interactive with her keepers. Kali loves attention and will sometimes whine when she thinks she’s not getting enough of it, keepers say! She’s pretty laid back most of the time but will protect what’s important to her – like her dinner.

🐸 The five-month-old tiny Solomon Island leaf froglets hatched at the Zoo are doing well and are now hunting crickets. These frogs are one of the few frogs with no tadpole stage. The froglet’s current size is now larger than a skittle! πŸ’š

Happy #WorldTapirDay to our dynamic tapir pair, Baku and Yuna! When tapirs are excited (especially by another tapir), they make sneezing hiccups, high-pitched squeals, and ear-piercing whistles. πŸ’•
Happy #WorldTapirDay! A tapir calf is born with extra rows of white dots (like a watermelon) to help it blend with its surroundings in the wild. πŸ‰ Here is a throwback to baby Kazu, who was born at Point Defiance Zoo and now lives at Zoo Miami.
