Frequently Asked Questions: Daytime Tickets

Who can buy discounted tickets?

Washington residents who receive Washington Quest EBT, WIC assistance, or participate in foster/kinship care.

How does it work?

If you participate in any of the eligible programs, simply provide current documentation and proof of Washington residency, such as Washington photo identification at our front gate to buy these discounted tickets. SNAP credit on the Washington Quest EBT card cannot be used to buy Zoo tickets or buy food inside the Zoo.

Wild Access tickets are for daytime admission only. Wild Access discounts cannot be combined with other offers or promotions and cannot be used for special programs.

How many discounted tickets can I buy?

You can buy up to 6 daytime tickets per visit for you and your legal dependents (aged 3-18). If you would like to buy more than 6 tickets, you will need to buy them at the general admission price.

How do I get the discounted tickets?

You can only buy these discounted tickets in person at our front gate.

Can other people use my EBT card/WIC Folder to buy discounted tickets?

No. You must be present and show photo identification and documentation that proves you are the one receiving the benefit.

What is considered acceptable documentation?

You must provide proof of Washington state residency (such as a Washington state photo ID), AND one of these acceptable forms of documentation:

  • Washington Quest EBT card with your name printed on it or your signature
  • WIC voucher/card or appointment folder with your name
  • DSHS kinship caregiver card
  • DCYF caregiver authorization form
  • Foster caregiver license certificate or identification card

If you don’t have the required documentation, you won’t be able to buy discounted admission tickets.

Do I have to show photo identification?

Yes. You must be able to show that the documentation belongs to you.

What is the age of dependent children?

For our purposes, dependent children are defined as your legal dependents who are age 18 and younger. Individuals over the age of 18 who are receiving benefits should have their own documentation and identification.

Can I apply my Wild Access ticket purchase toward a Wild Access membership?

Yes, you can apply your Wild Access ticket purchase to a Wild Access membership on the day of your visit. You cannot apply ticket purchases from previous visits to your membership purchase. Talk with a member of our visitor services team at our membership booth to learn more.
