Have you ever wanted to know how a monkey puzzle tree got its name? Or how to identify a Douglas fir tree by looking at its cones? Or how animals and plants depend on each other?
Join high school age Youth Volunteers on a short walk around the zoo to learn the answers to these questions and more! Our Youth Volunteers will introduce you to a few of the amazing plants we have on zoo grounds and will provide basic information about some of the connections between animals and plants. Plant Nature Walks take place at 11:00am on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of June, July and August.
Ages 5+. No RSVP needed. Walks last approximately 30-45 minutes. Come prepared with sunscreen and weather-appropriate clothing. The Plant Nature Walk is FREE with Zoo Admission.

Walk Length: about 30-40 minutes, beginning at Earth Aid Station (near the Red Wolf Picnic Area). Participants will walk through part of Asia, through Kids’ Zone, and back to Red Wolves.
